FrontPage 2000 Becomes the Default HTML Editor

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft FrontPage 2000, you may experience one of the following symptoms:


CAUSE

This issue can occur after you have installed Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft FrontPage 2000. FrontPage 2000 replaces FrontPage Express as the default editor for HTML files.


RESOLUTION

To edit an HTML file using FrontPage Express:

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Internet Tools, and then click FrontPage Express.


  2. On the File menu, click Open, click From File, and then type the path and file name of the file you want to edit, or click Browse, to browse to the file you want to edit, and then double-click it.
