How to Restore the Background Bitmap on the Internet Explorer Toolbars

This article describes how to restore the default background for the Internet Explorer toolbars if the background has been changed by your Internet content provider (ICP), Internet service provider (ISP), or the Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK).

Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

To restore the background bitmap for the toolbar, delete the BackBitmapIE5 string value under the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
