To uninstall Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2 from Windows 98:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 SP2, and then click Add/Remove.
- Click Restore the previous Windows configuration, and then click OK.
- When you are prompted "Click OK to remove Internet Explorer 4.0 and shared components," click OK.
- When you are prompted "Are you sure you want to remove Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0?", click OK.
- Click OK to restart the computer.
By default, Windows 98 installs Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1), which includes the Windows Desktop Update component. This version cannot be uninstalled using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel.
