No Error Message When .pac File Is Not Downloaded SuccessfullyID: Q222044

You may not receive any error notification if an automatic proxy configuration (.pac) file is not downloaded successfully.
If the location of the .pac file is invalid or currently unavailable, no error message is displayed indicating that the .pac file was not processed. When this occurs, Internet Explorer uses the default proxy settings.
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer service pack
that contains this fix.
To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services
