Problems Installing Internet Explorer with GetRight InstalledID: Q221896
|
When you attempt to install Internet Explorer 5, you may receive the following error message, and Setup may not continue:
Setup was unable to download the required components. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet, or try to run Setup again later.
This problem can occur if you try to install Internet Explorer with the Headlight Software GetRight program installed on your computer.
To work around this problem, right-click the GetRight icon on the taskbar, click Close, and then start Internet Explorer 5 Setup.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
The third-party products discussed here are manufactured by vendors
independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise,
regarding these products' performance or reliability.
The HeadLight Software GetRight program is a download utilitiy and service to help you download files and recover them if errors occur.
When you click a file to download, GetRight takes over and displays its own Download dialog.
During Internet Explorer Setup, GetRight starts and prompts you to download the Ie5setup.exe file. When you start Internet Explorer Setup by double-clicking the Ie5setup.exe file, Setup attempts to download additional files for installation. At this point Setup may stop and the error message listed earlier in this article may be generated.
