Secure FTP Through a Proxy Does Not Work Using NTLMID: Q235524

If you connect to a secure FTP site on the Internet using syntax similar to the following
FTP://username:password@ftp.site.comWindows NT Authentication does not work and Internet Explorer prompts you to type your user name and password.
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 5 service pack
that contains this fix.
