Significant Delays Downloading Third-Party Files Using Plug-ins

SYMPTOMS

Downloading and displaying third-party files in an Internet Explorer window through a plug-in may take significantly longer than you expect.


CAUSE

A significant delay occurs because of multiple resets during the process, causing the process to start over each time.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 4.01 service pack that contains this fix.
