The information in this article applies to:
When your computer is configured to use a color palette of 256 colors and is resumed from a suspended state, the wallpaper may appear distorted.
To resolve this issue, configure your monitor so that it does not reset after resuming from a suspended state. To do so, use the following steps:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then
double-click Display.
2. Click Advanced Properties, and then click the Monitor tab.
3. Click the Reset Display On Suspend/Resume check box to clear it, click
OK, and then click OK.
NOTE: Some display adapters need this feature to be enabled to work
properly. To determine if your display adapter has this requirement,
contact the manufacturer of your display adapter, or view the
documentation included with your display adapter.
The Reset Display On Suspend/Resume feature specifies whether you want Windows to reset your display after your computer resumes from a suspended state. Most display adapters may cause the screen to flash when the monitor is being reset.
