Importing Channel Subscription Information Using the IEAK

SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) does not import all the channel information from the host computer to the client computer.


CAUSE

Importing Channel subscription information from your host computer using the IEAK Wizard or Profile Manager does not import all the settings to the client computer. In particular, you cannot import the Download for Offline Viewing.

The IEAK Profile Manager does not import or export the "Subscription Type" for channels. The option is hard-coded and, by design, is set to Only Notify Me When Updates Occur.


WORKAROUND

To change this, perform the following steps:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.


  2. Click Manage Subscriptions on the Favorites menu.


  3. Right-click the name of the Channel you have subscribed to and click Properties.


  4. Click the Receiving tab.


  5. Click Notify Me When Updates Occur and Download for Offline Viewing.
