BUG: IE 3.02 Does Not Use Cache for Frames Navigated with Scripts

ID: Q198816

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

Internet Explorer 3.02 does not use the Temporary Internet Files cache when using a script to load a Web page into a frame. This problem produces significant delays on the application that must work over slow links, such as a wide-area network (WAN). You may observe that the expiration time for one of these pages in the Temporaty Internet Files folder is set to one hour prior to the current time, even if it was retrieved from the server moments ago.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 3.02 does not read from the cache when using the window.navigate method or the location.href property.
