SUMMARY

The HTML Layout Control is treated as an unsafe control in Internet Explorer 4.0x due to a security problem that is not apparent in Internet Explorer 3.0x due to architectural differences.

MORE INFORMATION

The control should run as long as security settings are set appropriately. The functionality of the HTML layout control can now be achieved natively in Internet Explorer 4.0x using DHTML. For this reason there are no plans to revise the HTML Layout control to be treated as safe in Internet Explorer 4.0.
