BUG: Adding Design Time Control to a WFC Form Crashes IDEID: Q194774
|
If you have both Visual J++ 6.0 and Visual InterDev 6.0 installed and you try to add the Visual InterDev 6.0 "Recordset" Design Time Control onto a Visual J++ Windows Foundation Classes (WFC) Form, the Microsoft Development Environment (IDE) will crash with an Illegal Operation error. You will loose all unsaved work in your open files.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
The Visual InterDev Design-Time Controls (DTCs) were designed to be used only in Visual InterDev applications. They are not recommended for use with WFC applications. The Recordset DTC is the only known control that will stop Visual J++, but other DTCs may exhibit this problem when added to a WFC Form.
