Microsoft Technical Support does not support running the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 97 from a CD-ROM drive. The only supported method for running the PowerPoint Viewer is from a complete, local installation to the hard disk.
In the past, Microsoft has posted nonsupported methods for running the PowerPoint Viewer 97 from a CD-ROM. These methods have been removed from the Web.
If you want to run your PowerPoint presentation and the PowerPoint Viewer from a CD-ROM, Microsoft suggests that you look for third-party solutions on the web.
To find out more information about any third-party PowerPoint presentation and PowerPoint Viewer CD-ROM distribution solutions you can use the various search engines available on the Web as well as asking other PowerPoint users in the public newsgroup (microsoft.public.powerpoint).
