PRJ98: Incorrect Work Value in Usage Views for In-Progress Tasks

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, the Task Usage and Resource Usage views may show incorrect Work and Actual Work values for some tasks and resources when the task is in progress.


CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the following conditions occur:


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, change the project start date for the resource pool so that it is the same as the project's sharing pool. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Change Working Time.


  2. In the For list, select the calendar you modified.


  3. Click the day title you changed previously.


  4. Under For Selected Dates, click Use Default, and then click OK.


  5. On the Window menu, click the resource pool.


  6. On the Project menu, click Project Information.


  7. In the Start Date box, enter the start date of the earliest project.


  8. Click OK.


  9. Re-enter the calendar exception.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
