WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the method appropriate for your situation.

Workaround 1: Inserted Projects with Custom WBS Data

Clear the WBS field to reset the WBS numbers.

NOTE: If you want to preserve the custom data from the WBS field, copy the data and then paste it into one of the Text fields (Text1 - Text30) before you clear the contents of the WBS field.

  1. On the View menu, point to Table:<Current Table>, and then click More Tables.

  2. In the More Tables dialog box, click Edit.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Table Definition In <Current Project> dialog box, and click the first blank row in the Field Name column.

  4. In the list of field names, click WBS.

  5. Click OK.

  6. In the More Tables dialog box, click Apply.

  7. Click to select the WBS column title.

  8. On the Edit menu, point to Clear and then click Contents. This removes any custom WBS data.

Workaround 2: Inserted Projects with Similar Calendar Names

Use either of the following methods:

When you insert the projects into a consolidated project, link each project to its source project.
-or-
Before you insert the projects into a consolidated project, change the name of the project calendar for each project so that each is different. For example, avoid having calendars named Standard (the default) in every project that is inserted into the consolidated project. To rename the Standard calendar, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Change Working Time.

  2. In the Change Working Time dialog box, click New.

  3. In the Create New Calendar dialog box, click Make Copy Of Standard Calendar.

  4. Type a unique name for the calendar in the Name box. Click OK.

  5. In the Change Working Time dialog box, click OK.

  6. On the Project Menu, click Project Information.

  7. In the Project Information dialog box, select the new calendar in the Calendar list.

  8. Click OK.

NOTE: You can use these steps to name any calendar.
