BUG: Sample Gateway will not Use Configuration Data File

Exchange Development Kit (EDK), versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.5

SYMPTOMS

The functionality of being able to install the sample gateway with specialized configuration information does not work with the current Exchange Development Kit (EDK). The sample gateway will not accept data provided in a .dat file that was made with Cfgcode.exe from a .ini file.

RESOLUTION

The settings may be entered manually using the Options tab of the Extension Property Page of your gateway. In the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program click the Configuration container and then click Connections.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
