PRB: MAPI 1.0 Calls Fail with Microsoft Mail 3.2 Client

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

MAPI 1.0 calls fail with the Microsoft Mail client version 3.2.

CAUSE

Programmatic access to Microsoft Mail version 3.2 is considered to be MAPI version 0. Extended MAPI calls are written to the MAPI 1.0 specification and require the MAPI 1.0 subsystem to work properly.

RESOLUTION

Install the Windows Messaging Subsystem on the client computer.
