PRB: MSMI Reports Event 10000 When Missing Envelope Information

Microsoft Exchange Server, versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.5

SYMPTOMS

When you submit a message to the Microsoft Mail Connector Interchange (MSMI) for processing the following event may be reported:

   Event id 10000
   Source = MSMI
   Description = MDBEF parsing failed on address information

CAUSE

The MSMI reports this event id when the message it is trying to process does not have complete envelope information.

RESOLUTION

The transport that is submitting the message for processing should include the standard envelope information including:

   - PR_SENDER_NAME
   - PR_SENDER_EMAIL_ADDRESS
   - PR_SENDER_ADDRTYPE
   - PR_SENDER_ENTRYID
   - PR_SENDER_SEARCH_KEY
   - PR_SENT_REPRESENTING_ENTRYID
   - PR_SENT_REPRESENTING_NAME
   - PR_SENT_REPRESENTING_SEARCH_KEY
   - PR_SENT_REPRESENTING_ADDRTYPE
   - PR_SENT_REPRESENTING_EMAIL_ADDRESS
   - PR_MESSAGE_DELIVERY_TIME
   - PR_PROVIDER_SUBMIT_TIME
   - PR_MTS_ID
