Err Msg: No Audio Data Has Been Sent from the Input Device for Multiple Seconds...ID: Q194170
|
When you transcode an MP3 file and use Microsoft Windows NT Server NetShow
3.0 Services as the destination, the following error may be reported:
No audio data has been sent from the input device for multiple seconds.
Typically, this indicates that the audio capture device driver has
failed.
When you use a stored file (such as an MP3) as your source and attempt to transcode that file, the source file must be decompressed, transcoded, and then recompressed. Because this can be a very CPU-intensive operation, transcodes are not performed in real time. This allows the encoder to best use the CPU resources that it has available to transcode the file. Because the transcode is not performed in real time, the encoder may not be able to transcode the file quickly enough to act as a source for a live stream.
To work around this problem, transcode the MP3 file into an ASF file before producing a live stream. Because the ASF file can be streamed directly, the NetShow Encoder does not have to decompress and recompress the ASF file.
