SYMPTOMS

When you use a Microsoft Windows NT Server NetShow Services to serve a large number of distribution streams, users may experience the following error: 


   nscm cause an unknown software exception 0xc0000044


WORKAROUND

Depending on the system resources available to the NetShow Services and the number of distribution streams you are serving, you may need to distribute the load across multiple servers.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT Server NetShow Services version 3.0.
