This article highlights some considerations when you are expanding a NetShow Theater Server installation through the addition of content servers and/or content disk drives.
To change the maximum number of concurrent streams that can be served from an existing Theater Server installation, you can add content servers or another series of disk drives to the existing content servers. If you change the hardware on one content server, you must make the same change to all of the other content servers. Each content server must match every other content server as closely as possible. After adding the hardware, you must uninstall and then reinstall the NetShow Theater title server and content server, and then reload all of the MPEG titles onto the content drives. Reinstallation for sites that provide a large number of MPEG titles can be time consuming. Therefore, it is essential to accurately forecast your system capacity before you deploy hardware and install the video server.
Specific details can be found in the online Theater Server documentation file, NetShowTS.chm, located in the NetShow Theater\Docs\HTML directory of your NetShow Theater 3.0 media.
