SUMMARY
This article outlines recommendations to make NetShow 3.0 Services content
compatible with NetShow Player version 2.0.
MORE INFORMATION
To make sure that the content you create with NetShow 3.0 Services tools
is compatible with NetShow Player 2.0, do the following:
- Use NetShow Encoder version 2.0 configuration (.asd) files to create content. This method ensures that the content is in the correct format.
It is possible to create content without using the NetShow 2.0 encoder
.asd files as long as you adhere to the following guidelines:
- When you create content with NetShow tools, use version 2.0-
supported codecs. The following codecs are supported in the 3.0 encoder and
the 2.0 player:
Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V1
Microsoft MPEG-3 Audio Codec
VoxWare Audio File Codecs - AC8, AC10, AC16
- When you create video content, always make sure that the height and
width of the video are divisible by 16.
- The NetShow 2.0 player does not recognize NetShow 3.0 .asx files.
Be sure to create .asx files using NetShow version 2.0 syntax. For
