The information in this article applies to:
-
Microsoft Access 97
-
Microsoft Office Developer Edition 97
-
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
SYMPTOMS
On Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3), if you try to open a
Microsoft Access 97 database from a folder that also contains a large
bitmap with the same name as that database, you may receive a fatal error.
On Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation SP3, you see a blue screen with the
following STOP error message:
STOP: 0x0000001A (00041284, 0x00A80000, 0x00000000, 0xc0502000)
Then, you must restart the computer.
NOTE: The first parameter in this case will always be 00041284. The other parameters will vary, depending on the system configuration.
On Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server Service Pack 3 (SP3), you may see the
STOP error message or the system may stop responding (hang). In either case, you must restart the computer.
NOTE: This error is more likely to occur if the bitmap is over 1.5 megabytes (MB) in size.
NOTE: This problem does not occur in Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4).
RESOLUTION
Move the bitmap to another folder or rename it so that it does not exactly match the database name.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access 97.
