ACC97: More Than One Synch Displayed on Status Bar

ID: Q201222

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

When you run the Replication Synchronizer installed either with the Office Developer Edition or with a run-time application, the status bar text that typically reads "Synchronizer" may be changed to read "More than one Synch."

CAUSE

You have installed the updated Jet 3.51 DLLs on a computer that previously was running Access 97 and you are using the Synchronizer (mstran35.dll) for Replication.

In this case, mstran35.dll is still version 3.50 and does not match the new msrepl35.dll (version 3.51). This causes the caption on the Synchronizer, which normally displays "Synchronizer" on the status bar, to display "More than one Synch."

Note: There are no known adverse affects to this condition.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  2. Install Microsoft Office Developer Edition.

Note that the status bar text has changed from "Synchronizer" to "More than one Synch."
