SYMPTOMS
Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
When you point to Toolbars on the View menu and click Customize, the list
of commands that appears on the Commands tab does not contain all of the
available menu commands.
RESOLUTION
If you want to use a command that doesn't appear on the list of commands,
click Built-in Menus in the Categories list on the Commands tab. Then, add
the menu that contains the command that you want to use to your custom
toolbar (command bar).
To add a command from a built-in menu to a custom toolbar, follow these
steps:
- On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
- In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab, and then click New.
- In the New Toolbar dialog box, type a name for the command bar, and then
click OK. Note that a new, blank toolbar appears.
- Click the Commands tab. In the Categories list, click Built-in menus.
- Scroll down the Commands list; click Window and drag it to the custom
toolbar.
- Click Help in the Commands list, and drag it to custom toolbar.
- In the Customize dialog box, click Close.
You now have all commands from the Window and Help menus on your custom
toolbar. Note that if you create a custom toolbar that contains commands
from the Built-in Menus category, any changes you make to the custom
toolbar are reflected in the built-in menus, and vice versa.
