ACC2000: Error Message "The user-supplied function named 'function name', the program to assist you in resolving conflicts, could not be found"

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and a Microsoft Access project (.adp).


ERROR MESSAGE

When you try to resolve conflicts in a replica, you may receive the following error message:

The user-supplied function named 'function name', the program to assist you in resolving conflicts, could not be found.
NOTE: Microsoft Office 2000 has built-in functionality that allows you to get more information about difficult-to-troubleshoot alerts or error messages. If you want to enable this functionality for this and other error messages in Microsoft Office 2000, please download the Microsoft Office 2000 Customizable Alerts file from the Microsoft Office Update Web site at the following address:

NOTE: If you reached this article by clicking the Web Info button in an error message, you already have Customizable Alerts enabled.


CAUSE

You may receive this error because the value of the ReplicationConflictFunction property is incorrect.


WHAT TO TRY

To resolve this error, use method 1 if you know the name of the custom function created to help resolve conflicts. Otherwise, use method 2.

Method 1

  1. On the File menu, click Database Properties, and then click the Custom tab.


  2. In the Properties box, click ReplicationConflictFunction.


  3. In the Value box, type the correct name for the custom conflict resolution function.


  4. Click Modify, and then click OK.


  5. On the Tools menu, point to Replication, and then click Resolve Conflicts.


Method 2

  1. On the File menu, click Database Properties, and then click the Custom tab.


  2. In the Properties box, click ReplicationConflictFunction.


  3. Click Delete, and then click OK.


  4. On the Tools menu, point to Replication, and then click Resolve Conflicts.
