ACC2000: Can't Create Publication After Disabling Server as PublisherID: Q223237
|
After you disable your server as a publisher/distributor, you are unable to create new publications. When you try to create a new publication, Microsoft Access 2000 returns the following error messages instead of automatically re-configuring your server as a publisher and allowing you to continue:
This message is followed by:<Machine Name> is not enabled as a publisher on distributor <Machine Name>.
To enable this Publisher, click Replication on the Tools menu, click Configure Publishing and Distribution, and select the Publishers tab.
When you try to follow the instructions in the error messages, you receive the following error message:[SQL-DMO] The name '<Machine Name>' was not found in the DistributionPublishers collection. If the name is a qualified name, use [] to separate various parts of the name, then try again.
This database in not enabled for publication.
In order to re-configure your server as a publisher, you must first close and then re-open Microsoft Access.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
