ACC2000: Cannot Select Multiple Controls in a Data Access Page

SYMPTOMS
You cannot select more than one control at a time in Design view of a data access page.

This behavior is different from the Design view of forms and reports where you can select more than one control at a time.
Steps to Reproduce Behavior
- Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
- On the View menu, point to Database Objects, and then click Pages.
- Open the View Products page in Design view.
- Select ProductID.
- Hold down the SHIFT key and try to click ProductName.
Note that you are not able to select ProductName while you hold down
the SHIFT key; ProductID remains selected.
- Try to drag the pointer over both ProductID and ProductName.
Note that you cannot select multiple controls by starting at any point outside a control and drag a rectangle over the controls that you want to select.
