ACC2000: Editing Records in a Page Causes Immediate Sort

SYMPTOMS
When you add a new record or edit an existing record on a data access page, the position of that record within the recordset may change.
CAUSE
The value you changed is a Sort Order field for the page. The record source of pages automatically sorts at the time that you modify the Sort Order field.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
- Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
- In the Database window, click Pages under Objects , and then click New.
- In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click Page Wizard.
- In the Choose the table or query where the object's data comes from, select the Products table.
- Click OK.
- Move all fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list by clicking the >> button, and then click Finish.
- On the View menu, click Sorting and Grouping.
- In the Default Sort box, type CategoryID.
- On the View menu, click Page View.
- On the Record Navigation bar, click New Record.
Note that the Caption box contains Products 1 of 78.
- In the CategoryID box, type 2, and then press TAB.
Note that the Caption box contains Products 25 of 78.
