ACC2000: Page Remains in DB Window After Deleting HTML FileID: Q200206
|
Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
If you delete the associated HTML file for a data access page, the Database window does not refresh when you open the database or press the Database window refresh key (F5). When you try to open a page, and if someone has deleted the underlying HTML file, you receive the following message:
The HTML file that corresponds to the selected data access page has been moved, renamed or deleted from <path>.
Press Locate to specify a new path or press Cancel to cancel the operation.
The shortcut in the Database window does not attempt to verify that the HTML file still exists in the same folder until you open the page.
The following steps show how to correctly delete a page:
Do you want to delete the data access page <page name>? For more
information on how to prevent this message from displaying
every time you delete an object, click Help.
You have chosen to delete the data access page. Choose Yes
to permanently delete the link and page files(s), No to
delete just the link.
Pages are stored outside the database in a separate file. What you see in the Database window is a shortcut to that external HTML file.
