When you try to open a Microsoft Excel 97 file, you may receive the following error message
where filename is the name of the file you are attempting to open.filename cannot be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding.
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

If the fix from Novell does not eliminate the problem, then please contact Microsoft for more information.
A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but
it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems
experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this
specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next release of Microsoft Office
that contains this fix.
