When you click OK in the ODBC Microsoft Excel Setup dialog box, you may receive the following error:
Invalid rows to scan.
You receive this error message if the Rows To Scan setting is less than 1 or greater than 16.
NOTE: Even though the ODBC Microsoft Desktop Database Drivers Help topic on "Rows to Scan" states that you can set this value to 0, you can only set it to the values 1 through 16 in the ODBC Microsoft Excel Setup dialog box.
To prevent the error from appearing, change the value in the Rows To Scan box to any number between 1 and 16, inclusive.
This is by design of Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
For the Microsoft Excel ODBC driver, you may enter any number from 1 to 16 in the Rows To Scan box; the default value will always be 8.
