In Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows, the CELL worksheet function may not update automatically.
NOTE: This is different behavior from earlier versions of Microsoft Excel.
This problem occurs when you do the following:

Use either one of the following methods to work around this problem:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Calculation tab.
3. Click the Calc Now button.
-or-
Press F9 to update the CELL worksheet function.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
For more information about the CELL worksheet function, click Contents And Index on the Help menu, click the Index tab in Microsoft Excel Help, type the following text

and then double-click the selected text to go to the "CELL" topic. If you
are unable to find the information you need, ask the Office Assistant.
