When you change the formatting of a chart in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows, the chart may be reduced to a tiny size.
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

To work around this problem, do not choose the corner placement of the legend after you manually move the legend on the chart. You may be able to resize the chart in some cases. To resize the chart, follow these steps:
1. Click once on the chart's plot area.
Eight resizing handles appear around the plot area.
2. Drag the resizing handles until the chart is resized.
NOTE: In some cases, you must re-create the chart to work around this problem.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
The amount by which the chart is reduced depends on the amount of data the chart represents. The more data that must be represented, the smaller the chart appears.
