XL97: Display Becomes Garbled When Scrolling Through Workbook

SYMPTOMS

When scrolling through a workbook in Microsoft Excel 97, the text in the workbook becomes garbled and unreadable.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, disable the text display feature of the video driver. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Right-click the desktop and click Properties on the shortcut menu.

2. Click the Compaq tab and then click Settings.

3. Click the Advanced tab. Click to clear the Text check box.

4. Click OK twice. When you are asked to reboot, click Yes.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem does not occur if you continue to use the file in the Lotus (WK4) format, nor does it occur if you save the file to Excel 95 or earlier Excel format.

   CmpqDP4000           (version 1.90)
