When you add a field to your query in the Query Wizard, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following
<Table>.<Column> is not a column of an inserted table, updated table, or
any table identified in a FROM clause.
where <Table> is the name of the table you are working with and <Field> is
the name of the field that you are trying to add.
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:

To work around the problem temporarily, click to clear the "Use the Query
wizard to create/edit queries" check box in the Choose Data Source dialog
box.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Query 97 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2).
Microsoft Query may build a query with an improper alias preceding the column name.
For Example the improper SQL syntax created is:
SELECT MSQRY32.COL1
FROM DBO.MSQRY32 MSQRY32_0
The Expected Results are:
SELECT MSQRY32_0.COL1
FROM DBO.MSQRY32 MSQRY32_0
