Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is not listed as a file format.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
In Microsoft Excel Help, one of the topics is "Publish Microsoft Excel data on a Web." When you view that topic and click the link mentioned in the "Symptoms" section for more information, you cannot find the information.
To demonstrate this problem, follow these steps:
1. In Microsoft Excel, click Contents And Index on the Help menu, click the
Index tab in Microsoft Excel Help, type the following text
html
and then double-click the selected text to go to the "Publish
Microsoft Excel data on a Web" topic.
2. Under Notes, click the link after "Some aspects of Microsoft
Excel formatting cannot be converted to HTML. For more information,
click >>."
Notice that HTML is not listed as a file format.
This problem also occurs when you click Contents And Index on the Help menu, click the Index tab in Microsoft Excel Help, and type the following text
files, saving
and then double-click the selected text to go to the "Formatting and
features not transferred in file conversions" topic.
