Some features in FrontPage 2000 require that the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions be installed on the server to which your Web is published. This article lists the features that require the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.

If you attempt to create a sub web within another sub web on a server with FrontPage 98 or earlier server extensions, you will receive the following error message:

The version of the FrontPage Server Extensions installed on this web server does not support creating more than one level of sub webs.

To upgrade to the latest version of the FrontPage Server Extensions, contact your Internet service provider or system administrator.

The Categories menu item on the Insert Component menu will be unavailable if the server extensions are not FrontPage 2000 or later.

The "Use document check-in and check out" option within Web Settings on the Tools menu will be unavailable if the server extensions are not FrontPage 2000 or later.
