When you work in HTML view, some tags (such as the <pre> tag) may be rearranged. For example, if you have a <pre> tag surrounding several other HTML tags, FrontPage may move the <pre> tag to a location closer to the text in a document.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
Some block level FrontPage elements may be rearranged when the page is saved, or when you switch to Normal view and back to HTML view.
If you must use a specific HTML configuration and FrontPage is rearranging the HTML code, follow these steps:
