FP2000: Prompted for Password When Publishing Using FTP LocationsID: Q219164
|
After specifying a user name and password in the Add/Modify FTP Locations dialog box, you are still prompted for a user name and password when you publish to that location using FrontPage.
The credentials (user name and password) are not automatically passed to the server when publishing.
The credentials entered in the FTP locations dialog box allow you to browse FTP locations that you have specified with the correct user name and password.
When you publish, you are prompted for a user name and password regardless of whether a user name and password are available in the FTP locations dialog box.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
When publishing using an FTP location, you are prompted for a user name and password. After you enter the requested information, files are published normally.
