SUMMARY
The FrontPage 2000 interface for opening webs is very different from any previous version. This article describes how to find your webs if you have upgraded to FrontPage 2000 from a previous version.
MORE INFORMATION
To access the last four webs you closed using your previous version of FrontPage, click Recent Webs on the File menu, and click the web you want to open.
If your previous webs were stored on a web server on your local computer, you will be able to see all of them. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Open Web.
- In the Open Web dialog box, type the following location in the Folder Name box near the end of the dialog box:
http://localhost
Click Open at the lower-right of the Open Web dialog box.
- FrontPage will open the root web of your local web server and add a shortcut in your Web Folders to the root web. Each sub web appears as a folder with a special icon. If you open a sub web, FrontPage will start a new instance of FrontPage for that sub web.
Once you create a shortcut to your web server, you can open your Webs. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Open Web on the File menu.
- In the Open Web dialog box, click the Web Folders icon in the lower-left.
- All servers that you have connected to with FrontPage 2000 are listed in the dialog box. Double-click any of them to navigate to the sub webs. Click Open to open the selected web.
If your previous webs were stored as disk-based webs, you can find them by following these steps:
- On the File menu, click Open Web.
- Click the Desktop icon in the Open Web dialog box.
- Use the icons in the central window of the Open Web dialog box to navigate to any directory on your computer.
- Click Open Web after you have selected the folder that contains your web files.
