SUMMARY
In FrontPage Editor, when you insert an image, the Image dialog box appears. This dialog box contains new features and functionality that is different from FrontPage 97. This articles describes these new features and functionality.

To insert an image, click Image on the Insert menu. The Image dialog box no
longer features tabs. The dialog box has been redesigned so that all of the
features that were available in the FrontPage 97 Image dialog box are now
available in a single, untabbed dialog box.
Two new options are available in the lower right-hand corner of the FrontPage 98 Image dialog box. Together, these two options replace the Other Location tab in the Image dialog box in FrontPage 97. One of these is identified by the globe and magnifying glass icon; the other by the folder and magnifying glass icon. These options are:
- Use your Web Browser to select a page or file (Globe Icon)
Click this option to select a file located on the Internet or intranet.
- Select a file on your computer (Folder Icon)
Click this option to select a file from a location on your hard disk.
The area below the Look In box replaces the Current FrontPage Web tab and the ClipArt button replaces the ClipArt tab used in FrontPage 97
Other ways to insert an image
In FrontPage Editor, you can insert an image using one of the following
methods:
Method 1: Drag and Drop
The easiest way to import a GIF image from your hard disk to a FrontPage Web is to use a drag and drop operation to copy the file from the Windows Explorer to FrontPage Editor.
Method 2: Copy and Paste
- In another application, such as Microsoft Image Composer, copy a
file to the clipboard.
- Switch to the FrontPage Editor.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
- When you save the file, enter a file name for the image.
The types of images you can insert depend on whether or not you have the
appropriate converters installed on your computer.
Method 3: Inserting a file from the World Wide Web or intranet
- On the Insert menu, click Image.
- Click "Use your Web Browser to select a page or file."
This opens your Web browser.
- In the Web browser, in the URL box, type the exact location and name of
the image you want to insert. For example, type
http://www.microsoft.com/sample.gif.
Press ENTER to display the image.
- Return to the Image dialog box and click OK to insert the image.
Method 4: Inserting a file located on your hard disk
- On the Insert menu, click Image.
- Click "Select a file on your computer."
- Select the image you want and then click OK.
