FP98: Import Web Wizard Imports More Levels Than SpecifiedID: Q184406
|
When you attempt to import a web from a World Wide Web site, FrontPage will import items below the
root level even though you selected the "Limit to this page plus" option and set the Levels Below
value to zero.
NOTE: To specify a limit to the number of levels, run the Import Web Wizard. On the Choose Download
Amount panel, click to select the "Limit to this page plus" check box, and type in a new value or
click the arrows to select a value in the Levels Below box.
FrontPage will preserve the contents of the Web that you are attempting to import. Therefore, if one of the pages in your Web contains an image or sound file located in a subfolder of the Web, the subfolder and the image and sound files specific to that page will be imported to preserve the integrity of the Web.

be imported. You cannot limit how far down the hyperlink structure to import.
This behavior occurs because the Import Web Wizard starts with the document you specified on the
Choose Source panel, reads all hyperlink information on that page, and then imports the source
page of each hyperlink. Note that FrontPage will import all HTML files first and then the image
files. When it is finished importing the images into the Web, FrontPage will import other documents
it finds.
FrontPage will stop importing files when one of the following occurs:
