FP98: Sample Web Template Not Listed After Running Aspwiz.exe

SYMPTOMS

After running Aspwiz.exe to install the ASP Sample Web, the ASP Sample Web template is not listed in the New FrontPage Web dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if Microsoft FrontPage 98 is not installed in the default folder, C:\Program Files\Microsoft FrontPage. The Aspwiz.exe program does not auto-detect if Microsoft FrontPage 98 is installed.

RESOLUTION

To install the ASP Sample Web template, follow these steps:

1. Uninstall the ASP Sample Web. To do this, perform these steps:
   
   
   1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
   
   
   
   2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
   
   
   
   3. From the list of programs click ASP Sample Web, and then click Add/Remove.
   
   
   
   4. Follow the instructions on your screen.
   
   
   



2. Reinstall the ASP Sample Web by running Aspwiz.exe.



3. In the ASP Database Sample Web Setup dialog box, click Change Directory.



4. In the Change Directory dialog box, type the path where FrontPage is installed. For example, if you installed FrontPage in the D:\FrontPage folder, type the following path in this dialog box:

   D:\FrontPage\webs\aspsamp.wiz




5. Click OK.



6. Click Installation.
