What is "Teaching and Learning with Microsoft"?
"Teaching and Learning with Microsoft" is a set of two compact discs that
includes tools for teachers and students, classroom activities, utilities,
clip art, guides, tutorials, lessons, and other software that is designed
to help enhance learning, improve teacher productivity, and create new
possibilities in the classroom.
System Requirements
"Teaching and Learning with Microsoft" requires that either Microsoft
Office 97 for Windows or Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition is installed
on the computer. The two compact discs are designed to be used under either
the Microsoft Windows or the Macintosh operating system.
Windows System Requirements
- Personal computer with a 486/66 or higher processor
 
- Microsoft Windows 95 or later, or Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 with
      Service Pack 5 or later
 
- Microsoft Office 97 for Windows
 
- 10 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space for templates,
      wizards, and activities; up to 220 MB to install all file converters,
      clip art, and fonts
 
- CD-ROM drive
 
- Optional requirements: 9600 or higher baud modem, Microsoft Encarta
      98 Encyclopedia
 
Compact Disc 2 requirements:
- 12 MB of RAM for use under Windows 95, 24 MB of RAM for use under

Microsoft Support Policy for "Teaching and Learning with Microsoft"
The following support policies apply to the files included in the "Teaching
and Learning with Microsoft" package:
- Microsoft supports installation of the compact discs only to a local
   hard disk. Installing to a network drive is not supported.
 
- The templates and wizards designed for use in Microsoft Excel,
   Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint are provided as is. Microsoft
   supports basic functionality within the templates and wizards. However,
   modification of the templates and wizards is not supported.
 
- Microsoft supports the functionality of the Help files designed for use
   with Microsoft Office 97, and the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) files
   designed for use with Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition. However,
   modification of these help files and HTML files is not supported.
 
- If you have problems installing Microsoft Internet Explorer, contact
   Microsoft Internet Explorer technical support. Microsoft Office
   engineers support the installation and use of the templates, wizards,
   and other components, but not Internet Explorer.
 
Known Issues and Problems
There are a couple of issues that are known to occur when you use the
templates, wizards, or other files that are included in the "Teaching and
Learning with Microsoft" package. These are the following:
- In the Code Crackers Math Game in Microsoft Excel, if you click the
   Show Numbers In Cells button twice, the columns in the worksheet are
   not properly resized to the correct width. You must manually correct
   the column widths within the worksheet.
 
- In the Voting Survey in Microsoft Word, the check boxes in the document
   do not work correctly unless you perform the following steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Protect Document.
 
- Select the Forms option button. Click OK.
