ERROR MESSAGE

When you attempt to start an Office program, the following error message appears:

This application requires the Windows Installer to run.

CAUSE

The Windows Installer is missing or damaged.

WHAT TO TRY

To manually install the Windows Installer, follow these steps:

Insert Microsoft Office 2000 CD 1 or CD 2 in the CD-ROM drive.

Click Start, point to Programs and click Windows Explorer. Browse to the Msi folder on the CD.

Double-click Instmsi.exe for Microsoft Windows 95 or later, or Instmsiw.exe for Windows NT version 4.0.
