OFF2000: Different Version Number Reported In MSInfo and Help AboutID: Q228696
|
In any Office program, the version number displayed in About Microsoft <program> may be different than the version number displayed for that program in either Microsoft System Information (MSInfo), or from a Microsoft Visual Basic macro.
For example, Microsoft Excel displays version number 2720 in About Microsoft Excel on the Help menu, and version number 2719 in MSInfo or from a Visual Basic macro.
The correct version number is the number displayed in MSInfo or from a Visual Basic macro.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
The following table lists the version displayed in Help About and in MSInfo.
Product | Help About | MSInfo |
---|---|---|
Outlook | 2711 | 2711 |
Access | 2720 | 2719 |
Excel | 2720 | 2719 |
FrontPage | 2717 | 2717 |
Word | 2720 | 2717 |
Power Point | 2716 | 2716 |
