When you run the Office Setup program you may receive the following error messages:
When you click OK, Office Setup quits.Error 1327. Invalid Drive: C:\
Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
This problem may occur if you have used the Disk Administrator utility included in Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to change the drive letter of the hard disk that the operating system is installed on, for example, the C drive.
The problem occurs because the Office Setup program uses registry keys to determine the locations of certain folders that are required to install Office. If the drive letter of the hard disk that contains the operating system has been changed, the registry keys refer to nonexistent folders and Setup fails.
To correct this problem, use the Windows NT Disk Administrator program to restore the drive letter of the hard disk to its original value:
If you use the Disk Administrator utility in Windows NT to change the drive letter of the hard disk the operating system is installed on, you receive the following alert message:
Changing the drive letter for the windows directory may produce unexpected results. Are you sure you want to continue?
