OFF2000: Some Office Graphics Filters Not Available in Microsoft Paint

SYMPTOMS

Even though you installed all of the graphics filters with Office 2000, when you click the Save as type list in Microsoft Paint, you may not see the following filters listed:


CAUSE

You may not see these two filters listed if you have not yet started Microsoft Photo Editor, or if you have not yet opened any files of these types in Paint.


RESOLUTION

To see the above two filters in the Paint Save as type list, follow these steps:

  1. Save all of your work and quit Paint.


  2. Start and then quit Photo Editor.


  3. Start Paint.


To Install the Graphics Filters

The above steps assume you already have the necessary graphics filters installed. To install all of the graphics filters, follow these steps:
  1. Start Office Setup.


  2. Click Add or Remove Features.


  3. In the Microsoft Office 2000: Update Features dialog box, click the plus (+) next to Converters and Filters.


  4. Click the list next to Graphics Filters, and then click to select Run all from My Computer.


  5. Click Update Now.
