When you attempt to Start Microsoft Outlook 97, you receive an error message:
The Microsoft Network Detected.
Although you click to select Don't Show This Dialog Again, the error
message continues to appear each time you start Outlook.
You are starting Outlook for the first time after upgrading your computer to Windows 98.
To permanently disable the Microsoft Network Detected error message, follow these steps:
1. Insert your Windows 98 compact disc in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click the Start button, click Find and then Files and Folders.
3. In the Named box type Chnginbx.exe. Click the Look In list and then
click the CD-ROM drive.
4. Click Find Now.
5. Double click Chnginbx.exe to run this utility from the compact disc.
6. You will be asked,
This program will change your Inbox icon to the Microsoft Outlook
icon, Do you want to continue?"
click Yes.
The Microsoft Network Detected message will not appear when you next start
Outlook.

computer.
If you currently subscribe to MSN (or wish to), you must click "MSN

Windows 98 adds this message as a service to MSN customers. This message is
added to icons on the desktop if a previous version of The Microsoft
Network client is detected, or if the second stage of the MSN setup process
has not been completed. Windows 98 does not automatically upgrade the MSN
client.
